After a good meal Robert Clements, on behalf of the race committee, presented trophies for the club’s confined 10 and 20 mile time trials, combined classifications
The Law Wheelers have a history of more than eighty years and one of the trophies actually lists it’s winners going back to 1937, making it very special. On it are big names like Pinky Williams, who has a memorial at the Waterloo roundabout, and Bill Haggart who won many prizes in days gone by and still comes out to see the younger Law Wheelers compete. Next to handing out the trophies there was also a mention for the many members who have been competing in open events throughout Central Scotland and beyond.

With the official part over it was time for the raffle, with proceedings going to the club. The members had brought in so many prizes that this took some time! Arguably the best prize went to Colin Sergeant, who went home with a set of cookie cutters…
The last club members finally rolled out the of the pub at closing time. The next morning at 9am there were a few sore heads at the start of the Sunday club run, and a couple of wheelers even racing the following day at Lochore Meadows Cyclocross Race.
The Law Wheelers have again welcomed several new members this year, some of them competitive, others who just want to enjoy riding with a club. The club rides every Sunday throughout the winter (when it’s safe to do so). The next special event will be on Saturday 5th December, when we ride to the Last Shift Inn in Braehead for the Christmas lunch.
