North Coast 500 - Day 2 – Torridon to Ullapool 90 mls (1600m). All start after change of gear cable in car park. Temp at +20 deg then hotter later in light W. lose support at summit above loch Maree with rest stopping at Gairloch. Soon split 2 (fast) & 4 (normal) towards Dundonald but hotel shut! So back to previous café. Ascend from café in heat, then 4 regroup before descent into Ullapool to join rest & finish for day. (2 fast group; skipped the closed hotel and café, had late lunch at gourmet burger bar in car park 15 miles before Ullapool. 3 course meal, Gourmet Chicken burger, chips, coffee then finished off with an ice-cream.)
